Welcome
Miss Ariel!
Thanks for sharing some of your hair journey with us…let’s get started…
How long have you been natural?

Has your family and friends been supportive of your natural hair journey?
my family and friends have been very supportive. in fact, I have helped some transition and also they ask me for tips on how to take care of their hair, and I love it!
Wow that’s awesome! Now tell us what do you do for a living and how does that affect how you style your hair?
I am an insurance agent for State Farm. It has not really affected the way I style my hair. my boss is totally cool with my curls, and I rock whatever hair style I feel at the time.
What kind of issues have you run into with your natural hair?
The biggest issue I have run into with my hair is dryness. but I feel like since I learned that my hair is high porosity I have able to gravitate towards the right products and managing dryness has become easier.
Do you have any go-to protective styles or dope hairstyles you love?
My go to protective style is a bun. it’s also my lazy hair style or I need to do my hair, hairstyle lol.

How often do you use heat to straighten your natural hair?
I only straighten my hair when I’m getting a trim which is about 4 times a year
What is your favorite hair product that you just can’t do without?
I can’t live life without my shea moisture JBCO leave in conditioner
Do you have a stylist that you would recommend?

Dope Natural Miss Jasmine

How long have you been natural?
10 months and counting…
Has your family and friends been supportive of your natural hair journey?
Absolutely. My husband & daughter love it. And just recently, my mom did the BIG CHOP! She’s adorable.
How awesome! Generations of women in your family are natural! So what do you do for a living and how does that affect how you style your hair? I work at a hospital, so I must keep my styles presentable and modest.
What kind of issues have you run into with your natural hair?
Well, this is my 2nd time going natural. Why? I have an 8-year-old natural, so I was only accustomed to kid styles. I didn’t know how to style my hair in a becoming manner nor had the right products for my hair. So I gave in to what I knew best…the creamy crack. After 2 months, I regretted it, and started my journey again. But this time, I transitioned.
Do you have any go-to protective styles or dope hairstyles you love? Protective styles – Crochet Braids, b/c they are quick, easy, affordable, and low maintenance. Natural style – Curl Set w/ Perm Rods are my everything.
What is your hair regimen?
I shampoo and deep condition my hair 1-2 times a month. In between that, I dampen it with water and massage hair milk and leave-in conditioner in my hair before styling it. It’s grown 5 inches in 10 months!
How often do you use heat to straighten your natural hair?
I haven’t straighten it in 10 months…honestly don’t plan to for a long time.
What is your favorite hair product that you just can’t do without?
Mielle Organics product line is so BOMB! They keep my hair moisturized, SOFT, light, and smelling O-so good.
Do you have a stylist that you would recommend?
LoL…can I say YouTube, Pinterest, & Instagram in one breath? The naturalistas on these sites give me LIFE and inspiration for new styles.
What advice can you give to beginners?
Be patient. Be realistic. Be open. Research and experiment to find out what works for YOU.
Anything else you would like to add?
 I love being natural!!!
